Ahead of the times!

Check out Anthropologie's "Orange Grove" bikini:

It looks familiar, hey? It looks a lot like the fabric I used to make a romper last summer! I have heard stories about Anthropologie ripping off dresses people have blogged about, and even going so far as to use their pictures without permission, but I would seriously doubt that I would be on their radar.  I think it's just a crazy coincidence.

Sorry for the silence lately. I've been dealing with a lot of cat stuff, and also it's about 95 degrees in my sewing room. I tried to go in there on Tuesday and start on a project and I was breaking a sweat within minutes! It hasn't been all dead on the sewing front. Before it got to be too hot, I made a pleated skirt and it actually turned out and FITS this time! This is still a sheet, but now I know what dimensions to cut the fabric and how big to make the pleats, so I'm ready to try it again in real fabric.

I cannot believe this, but I have made a million things with button holes lately and my machine has not acted up. It's a miracle. That thing used to eat fabric like it was starving to death, but it's been really good lately.

I also made another Colette Patterns Sencha blouse, which I shamefully wore and did not get a picture of. It's super pretty and my favorite one I've made so far! I'll have an update on that soon. It's supposed to cool down for the weekend, so hopefully some sewing is in my future. Also, Sunday is the second Elkhorn Flea, so fingers crossed I come home with a treasure!
